Re: 2023-24 Season

^

We need Dartmouth and Denver to win tonight. Unfortunately, both just went down 4-3 at almost the exact same time. Denver still has time. The Dartmouth-Cornell game has only 9 minutes to go.

Re: Game 3, 2023-24: Harvard (11/17)

Why did we not call a timeout when Keon had the ball at the corner of the 3 point line with no chance of scoring with 4 seconds left. Why didn’t we call a time out at all in the last possession? Got ultimate DK flashbacks there. The DK flashback where he didn't call a timeout before the last posses...

Re: 2023 Game 6: Arkansas State

I don't blame anyone for being angry at Brown and questioning his job status. But this feels no different from seasons under other coaches. The guy who needs to be fired is Ryan Bamford. He may not be solely responsible for UMass Athletics' problems but he hasn't helped and he's the guy who can be a...

Re: 2024 Recruiting

DK was NOT forced out by Frank. Frank wanted DK here and he certainly wanted DK to stay. He brought great recruiting skills (as evidenced by the thank yous mentioned here) and DK's return to Amherst brought some important people back into the UMass Basketball world that were lost under McCall. Frank...

Re: Return of Derek Kellogg

Still shit talking DK on here. What a shocker. "The worst Xs and Os UMass coach ever." And yet he got us to the Dance in a better A10. If that isn't a notable accomplishment, why haven't so many others done it? Lappas obviously didn't. Ford probably would have, but he told us to F Off for ...

Re: Return of Derek Kellogg

Most people don't know how brutal things got around DK's firing. It is beyond incredible that he came back. It shows how much he loves UMass. There is no way he planned on coming back for one season. The players participating in this NIL Throwback Tournament would not have done so if there wasn't re...

Re: Game 31, 2022-23: vs Richmond (A10 1st Rd, 3/7)

have not watched any of it so i cannot comment on the effort. too bad. At this stage you totally play for pride and hopefully a couple of wins to go out with a winning record. Injuries for sure this year but the level of talent and most importantly basketball IQ is severely short. partly coaching b...

Re: Game 29, 2022-23: at Duquesne (3/1)

I could see 5 guys gone this year, maybe 6. Maybe not a bad thing, we need some scorers. Team looks deflated and I wonder what the team chemistry is like You want ANOTHER roster turnover? Especially when Frank is incredibly tough on first-year guys in his program? How on Earth would that be a good ...

Re: Game 28, 2022-23: Dayton (2/22)

Disappointed to hear about the Frank-Brandon blowup, but at least that was father-son as opposed to one of the other guys. It seemed like Frank was really into the game during the first half. It was a flashback to OOC Frank. He sensed we had a chance, which we did until Dayton pulled away with 5 min...

Re: Game 25, 2022-23: at La Salle (2/11)

People blaming Kellogg. Of course you fucking are. Saw that coming the moment he was brought back. It's not Frank or the other assistants. Or the coaching staff as a whole. It's not the injuries. It's not being among the worst 2PT shooting teams in the country because guys are missing shots a foot f...

Re: Game 23, 2022-23: Davidson (2/4)

First TV TO thoughts: If UM is going to bastardize the Julius Erving jersey they handed out today by putting Erving on the back….where it was not in the original…… why not put “Dr J” on the back 😁. Would have preferred a semblance of legitimacy by not having the name on the back……..would not have e...

Re: Expectations for 2022-23 Season

I had asked this before, but I can't that post.... either way I asked it way too early on anyways: Does anyone have a breakdown of our wins and losses based on the Assistant that is running the game plan for that opponent? We know from discussions early on that Frank has each Assistant scout oppone...

Re: Game 15, 2022-23: at GW (1/7)

I do not disagree with many sentiments expressed in this thread, but I think it's stupid and dangerous to wander into the "maybe Frank shouldn't be here" territory already. On paper, back in March, could we have made a better hire than Frank? Can we make a better hire if Frank left today? ...

The school put out a statement saying Wildens and Diggins weren't playing today. Not Frank. Not the athletic department. That has me a bit worried.

Re: 2022 Season

First off, thank you to the young men who chose to play at our University and risked their current and future health out on the field this season. Special thanks to the Seniors. I firmly believe in Coach Brown and a majority of his assistants. The one who MUST go, by Monday, is Casula. He clearly do...
