Re: Game 2, 2019-20: at Fairfield (Bridgeport, 11/9)

Tough win. Fairfield seemed like a well coached team and they did a great job moving the ball to beat the press. FTs are going to cost this team a couple games this year unless they figure it out. Lots of potential with this group but they still have a LONG way to go. Side note for whoever follows W...

Re: Game 1, 2019-20: UMass-Lowell (11/5)

LOVED that Keon play too. Someone mentioned it earlier, but it will be interesting to see how Keon's role develops and how he responds. If he can embrace 20 energy minutes a game then he will be an invaluable part of this team. If he gets discouraged if some of the freshmen take more of his minutes ...

Re: Game 1, 2019-20: UMass-Lowell (11/5)

Great start to the season. That's a 20+ point margin of victory if they get the free-throw shooting to 65% and eliminate some of those reach fouls.

There will be ups and downs but gotta love the potential.

I think UMass is going to win by more than 1.5. We have the talent advantage, and hopefully they play composed enough so the talent wins out.

Re: NCAA votes to allow athletes to profit from likeness

I have to disagree with the bright investment guy. The big time schools already have a monopoly on the best players. Kids are already getting paid under the table. Bidding wars already exist with the sneaker companies and top programs. Like anything else, introducing this new thing will lead to plen...

Re: Game ½, 2019-20: Western New England U (10/29)

Keon had a rough night. He plays hard, I’ll give him that. But, he missed three 3s badly including one in the first half when he was whistled for being out of bounds when he shot. In the 2nd half he missed a lay up from under the basket. The ball wound up going over the backboard and out of bounds ...

Re: 2019-20 Coaching Changes thread

Regardless of his UMass opinions, I don't really get what Goodman's deal is. Is his brand being a d*ck? Or is he just completely clueless on how to politely interact with others? In the small world of MBB recruiting on twitter, a lot of people seem to hate him and I can see why sometimes. He just ha...

Re: 2019-20 Coaching Changes thread

I'm not sure I like this statement: Can also get just about anyone who walks and chews gum into school.” – A-10 assistant coach The ranking of UMass' atmosphere at 11 will change as UMass starts to win again. Ya I didn't like seeing it either but I can't say it's wrong. We are known to take the par...

Re: State of the Progam

I'm not as clued in on the football program as I am basketball so excuse the question, but is there a good chance a lot of our good recruits decommit with the way things are going? I've read a bit about how Bell has put together the best recruiting class in UMASS history for next year, but I feel li...

Tough schedule this year, IMO. That stretch from Mogegan-Yale is going to be brutal.

Re: Game 1: @ Rutgers - 8/30/2019

Looked to me like they are at a serious size disadvantage on the defensive side of the ball. Offense looked serviceable and I like the hurry-up/short-pass offense for this team. If the D-Line and linebackers don't get better it's going to be a REAL ugly season.

Re: 2019-20 season

When I was an undergrad (around the end of Cal's Memphis days) I was walking to the Worcester dining common and randomly bumped into Calipari walking out. I wasn't really a fan of the basketball team at this point, but I said something like "hey your John Calipari" and stuck out my hand. He gave me ...

Re: Virgin Islands, August 2019, exhibition trip

I like this take and I agree. Selfishly I’d love to watch a stream, but big picture I think the lack of exposure can’t hurt and could maybe be a net positive.
