Re: First reaction: UMass to the MAC
^ For what it's worth, I peaked at the MAC forums the past week, and the opposite was claimed. If I recall correctly, the story is that the MAC declined Delaware's bid, as they preferred not to have an FCS call-up, and their basketball program doesn't add as much as UMass's does. And from UMass's p...

Re: UMass is back in the MAC
UMass was presented with the MAC Jolly Roger flag that is flown when they beat P5 teams in any sport.

Re: First reaction: UMass to the MAC
^Three MAC schools do you have D1 hockey teams, which I bet get on future schedules, so there is a slight connection.

Re: UMass is back in the MAC
Zoo, while I’m happy with the MAC invite your appraisal of Ryan Bamford is a stretch. Since he’s been here we have not had a winning football or men’s basketball team (until this season) He hired Walt Bell and Matt McCall 2 of the very worst coaches in footballl and basketball yeah you might be rig...

Re: UMass is back in the MAC
As they say: Its better have a home than living on the streets. At least UMass will get to to play the bad teams in the MAC and not the best teams as we do now. On Bamford: He sucks. UMass is the worst school in all sports success, with the largest budget, compared to MAC schools. His salary has nea...

Re: 2023-24 Season
The team just posted pictures of them wearing Black Lives Matters with the fist clenched shirts. The same organization that stole millions of dollars and celebrated the Hamas attacks on Israel. I know that they are wearing them for Black history month, but this is just another loss of many for this ...

Re: 2023-24 Season
^Had a short positive bump when some players came off injuries to start conference play but it has gone down since teams have video of UMass.
Even in Verdi's early years, the teams had at least four players who were good but no depth. Can't say that now.

Re: 2024 Season
^Spot on! He's 180 degrees from Casula: Experienced, known, mature. That being said as we all know it comes down to the players and hopefully they will fit with his system and coaching style. When you go from a fanboy coach like Casula to a former FBS head coach, it could be a big change...Spring ba...

Re: 2023-24 Season
I still watch the games until I can't take the bad basketball. No team should be THIS bad with the transfer portal. Leflar admits it himself how poor this team plays. I blame it more on the players just not being very good and not gelling. Hopefully he brings in some better players next season and t...

Re: 2024 Season
^ This! The 2024 roster is posted, and it looks really low on the DT/NT numbers and experience. Other than Wooden, the D-line was weak after Hugo was injured. The only returner with experience in my view wasn't very good and needs to up his game a lot! The two returnees on the O-line were the worst...

Re: Conference Realignment
Kennesaw State is a really growing school that is the same as a VCU or GMU but with FBS football. Its located just outside of Atlanta which is perfect for travel for UMass fans.

Re: Casula to Michigan
^ That was always so frustrating to watch! QB roll out, if the ONE receiver was covered, the QB would run and get hit. He was the QB coach at UMass and how bad can he be to become the TE coach at his next job!

Re: Casula to Michigan
The transfer portal saved him from being another Walt Bell. Year one he failed spectacularly with his QB recruit of Gino and the offense was horrible as we all know. Year two he brings in two promising transfers QBs, who both get injured because of his QB running offense. His play design and play ca...
