Re: Game 14 - 2018-19 - La Salle 1/5/19

This. Team. Stinks. The offense is a joke. They don’t have a player who can feed the ball into the post. Pipkins has been horrible for a month. They can’t make a shot and yet the coach doesn’t put in a guy like Hayward in who might hit a three or two. This is absolute bullshit. Totally fucking agre...

Re: future scheduling talk

So I was just looking at the 2019 schedule (so I could mark up my new 2019 calendar!) and the UConn and BYU games have TBD under location. Is there a possibility that one or both could be played in Amherst?? This site (usually very accurate) lists the UConn game at Gillette Stadium and the BYU game...

Re: Head coaching options

Harasymiak took the job as the DBs coach. Can't remember any successful FCS head coach taking an FBS job as a position coach. I guess his buddy being the defensive coordinator at Minnesota had a lot to do with the move.

Re: Head coaching options

It was a timing issue. Wish we could get him as DC. Salary would be double what he's making at Maine (150k vs at least 300k at UMass). Doubt he would leave to be the DC at UMass but you never know...Really did want him to be the next head coach. Oh well, go Bell!

New addition to the staff:

Looks like Bell kept Valerian Ume-Ezeoke on the staff (he filled in as the D-line coach at the end of the season).

Re: Head coaching options

According to CBS, Don Brown reportedly interviewed for the Temple Head Coaching position     Wow. He's been at Michigan for a long time for him... Brown was looking burned out as a head coach his last year or so at UMass but maybe he got his fire back. Temple should just hir...

Re: Gotta do better than this

I made my donation to the Minutemen Club earlier in the year and will not be donating again until next year. A lot more worthy causes to donate to this time of year than UMass football--hard to believe, I know. Just my view: When Bell is making 650k+, it looks kind of ridiculous saying that w...

Re: Walt Bell

Downstairs at the drake - was best place in amherst Beg to disagree - ground level at Mike's. Mike’s Westview? Loved that place. The happy hour on Friday's with the all you can eat buffet; what a way to start the weekend off! Living in Puffton, that was our go to place, we could even walk back if w...

^^. That’s not what Wikipedia said! What are the odds of that!?!
My heart broke a little when Brown left, still hasn't healed! My co-worker at the time when Brown left UMass was a huge Maryland booster and his heart broke when Brown left Maryland.

Re: Walt Bell

Just look at his bio and you see why. He doesn't stay in any job for long, always looking for a better one. He can easily be offered much more money to leave UMass after a year or two, leaving the program back to square one. College football these days in the Power 5 is much different than any other...

Re: Walt Bell

Have to say I'm very impressed by coach Bell after seeing him speak. I see why Bamford and many others are so impressed by him. He will definitely be able to recruit the mothers of the players, but that didn't work for Kingsbury at Texas Tech. Just wonder how long he will stay around... FYI.....
