Re: KAEO: Carl Pierre

Then MM needs to use a one of the other two point guards to distribute the ball and have both Pip and Carl off the ball. IMHO MM has often tried Pipkins off the ball. Last season it was with CJ at point, a position it turned out he couldn't handle. This season he's had Clergeot and Wood both at the...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

^ Ah. We may have bingo. Hayward is listed as a soph. Hayward and Clergeot would have to sit again if they transfer. Laurent and Cobb won't if they graduate this spring. Which who knows with Laurent, but by all accounts Cobb will be based off of McCall's quote a few weeks ago. That's why some peopl...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Is the fact that there might another large turnover in year two bothersome to anyone? Depends on who is leaving. If it's Pipkins, Cobb and Laurent who are leaving, along with Holloway. No. Not bothersome at all. I'll be disappointed Pip is leaving, but it won't be bothersome as far as the direction...

Re: State of the program

My take: After a first season in which he had virtually no bench, McCall was desperate for players and went the transfer route to stock his roster in addition to his recruits. That resulted in a team that was really mismatched and lacking in chemistry, and that's on the coach. I think he now realiz...

Re: Game 23, 2018-19: Fordham (2/6)

It's clear that McCall just needed to get bodies in here after the mass exodus after he was hired. He probably sacrificed some of his beliefs just to get bodies/talent here to start. Things obviously haven't worked out, but I don't think that the transfers should be an indication of the guys he want...

Re: State of the program

What's the deal with the assistant coaches? They are pretty experienced, so if McCall can't get these guys to buy in, they must not be helping much either.

Re: Rhode Island 1/27

Nice to see Chaz, Monty Mack, and Chris Kirkland in the house. Be nice if they announced ALL the former players in attendance and showed some of their highlights at halftime/timeouts Agreed. Wasn't there, but did they show them on the big screen at all? Without knowing who was coming, might be hard...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

I mean where there is smoke, there is fire. It's not really a "smoke-fire" situation. It's just the nature of the game now with the Grad transfer rule. I think he is just being realistic about the situation, which is a bit refreshing as you don't often hear that from a coach in this public of a set...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

I mean where there is smoke, there is fire. We have 3 guys coming in next year and only 1 known available spot. Coach mentions 3 guys who are getting degrees and if he's worried about whether they will be leaving or not. I know it's not definite, and won't be until March or April. But this is a clea...

Re: Game 19 - St. Bonaventure 1/23/19

This is the game. Aside from that inexcusable loss to LaSalle, their opponents' conference combined record currently sits at 18-3. They've played the best of the best. Time to forget all the BS and start winning some games.

^ you don't think RH shooting 75% from inside 2 feet is sustainable? Literally every shot is a layup or dunk with the occasional hook shot. Maybe it regresses to 70%??
Considering he went 1-5 the other day, no I don't think 75% is sustainable.

I think we play hard and get beat by a better team, in a hard place to play. 75-67.

Re: State of the program

^ Seriously. The guy has coached 1 1/2 years. 1 year with barely a roster. And now half way in to year 2 we have a combo of transfers and 3 frosh and he deserves to be on the hot seat apparently. Give it a rest. He's building towards something with 3 more frosh coming in next year. He has an idea of...

Re: Game 17 - George Mason 1/16/19

Just needed to address natwam2547's comment about free throw shooting and Holloway. I know the guy is never going to be a great free throw shooter, but we can't expect him to shoot better than 37%, which is where he sits now? That's Chris Dudley-like. If I was an opposing coach, I wold consider hac...
