Re: State of the program

Probably a bit of a factor, yeah. Not sure how much, though. I think we had a few cupcakes in the non-conference for sure, but we also had some opponents who would do ok in the A10 (which may say more about what I think about the A10 this year than anything else). I also think there is something to ...

Re: State of the program

I think it's pretty obvious that our struggles have mainly transferred from the defensive end (the main culprit in the NC) to the offensive end (the main culprit in conference play). While it's pretty obvious, I am still a numbers guy so I looked at some very basic (just meaning non-advanced stats) ...

Re: Game 17 - George Mason 1/16/19

Just not a very good basketball team right now. They are competing, they just aren’t very good. That play down the stretch was tough to watch. I don’t think there’s one player on the team who has exceeded my expectations. Keon maybe but that’s because I didn’t have huge expectations. Maybe Laurent p...

Re: Djery Baptiste

A wrong-side-of-the-tracks Sean Carter is more like it to me. Bigger and stronger maybe, but not as quick as Sean, who was also a bit more versatile in that you could have him guard some face up guys and back to the basket guys. Sean wasn't great offensively either but he was better than what we've ...

Re: Game 16 @ Dayton 1/13/19

Played decently think...gave up too many threes on defense and the offensive execution, while good in stretches, was still a bit disjointed. A few Dayton threes were tough shots but quite a few were wide open too. Didn’t love all of the coaching decisions but overall we hung around. I think you dig ...

Re: Game 15 - 2018-19 - St. Louis 1/9/19

So if I spout an opinion several times over a span of years that turns said opinion into a fact? Shit, I am going to have to try that out. I wish I knew this years ago. So many opinions I have that should be facts.

Re: KAEO: Matthew Devine

Ha. No one has ever actually told me that but I am sure I can be on occasion. The thing is I am only a condescending asshole when someone deserves it. And once again we have another pot calling the kettle black situation. I mean I was replying to a post of yours where you told someone they were over...

Re: Game 15 - 2018-19 - St. Louis 1/9/19

If I were to argue that a program was a mess, I’m not sure I would use uniform choices and coaching attire as my Exhibit A. Well, not unless I was on Bravo talking college hoops for some reason.

Re: KAEO: Matthew Devine

I can’t think of anything less I would rather do, guy. Wait, lemme think about it some more. Thinking...thinking...thinking. Nope. Can’t think of anything. And besides, I was calling you out for telling someone they were overestimating their ability as a scout, not the specific action of projecting ...

^ You’re able to project out his ceiling, as a current freshman? You may be overestimating your scouting abilities.
This is like R Kelly telling another dude he may want to watch himself around underage girls.

Re: Ideal Lineup

I don’t think starting matters so much and I think lineups can often be dictated by your opponent. That said I would love to see that Pip, Pierre, Diallo, Laurent, RH lineup. Gives you a little more length at the wing, gives Diallo some good development minutes, three shooters on the floor with RH (...

Re: Game 15 - 2018-19 - St. Louis 1/9/19

I think the officials were pretty crappy both ways. My positives: Samba -- a three, a few really nice drives. They should let him do that more often. Also active defensively and on the boards. I think he is going to be the best player on the team next year. Chatman -- he's overmatched defensively be...

Re: Djery Baptiste

Early (very early) impressions: He can help with his size as a shot blocker, but he's seems very limited on offense and he is a bit foul-prone.

Re: Game 15 - 2018-19 - St. Louis 1/9/19

Oof that was rough to watch. Some good things, some bad things. Hung around and had our chances but the offense was pretty brutal down the stretch for both teams. Choppy game with interesting officiating - both ways. A little too much Pip in the last few minutes - yeah he made the only two baskets f...
