Re: 2020 Presidential Election

I take it you don't travel frequently for work; often at the last minute. There are a lot of reasons a person might be unable to make it to the polls besides being lazy or apathetic. The goal should be to get as much civic participation as possible. Why make it harder just because it's always been t...

Re: 2020 Presidential Election

Maybe I'm crazy but I fail to see how showing up in person and telling an 80 year old woman my address and name is such a secure and efficient system. I also don't think it's lazy to want to vote by mail/absentee and I'd say it invites greater participation. There are many situations that come up la...

Re: 2020 Presidential Election

So we went from 5 states using it in the past election to 50 states using it now, of course there were going to be issues. Say we’re back to normal in 2024 pandemic wise, are people really going to be too lazy to walk into a polling station to vote early or vote on Election Day? If they are do they...

Re: 2020 Presidential Election

Somehow Colorado has been using mail in voting since 2013 and hasn't run in to problems. The fact that some states (including Pennsylvania) wouldn't allow for the processing of mail in ballots until election day didn't help.

Re: 2021 Recruiting

It's also possible (may have already been decided but I don't recall) that this season will not count against eligibility. Not sure how that would play out with regards to the 13 scholarship limit.

Re: 2020 Season

If Sturgis can be held relatively safely, then I think that football games can be played. Based on the article below, I don't know if Sturgis can be considered a "Super Spreader". There's a John Hopkins review as well that questions the validity that Sturgis was a spreader. Although, know...

Re: Pat Kelsey

This vague stuff gets tossed out here a lot whenever fragile Pat’s name comes up yet no one ever puts any details behind it. If it’s real, say so;if not it’s not worth throwing out there

Re: 2020 Recruiting

I hope he picks Charlotte. Forgive me for my opinion here, it's just an opinion. It strikes me as very self-important when a player announces that he's gonna announce on some certain day. Like he's a McD's All-American and everyone is waiting to hear from him. He could have come here last year, but...

FWIW, Tony Bergeron liked his tweet announcing his 4:00 commitment.

Probably waiting for the scholarship situation to resolve itself.

Re: Game 28, 2019-20: VCU (2/26)

I'm going to guess one thing that needs to be worked out is an available scholarship. These things tend to work themselves out but our scholly situation is trickier now with DD committing to a non-open spot already.

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

This is the quote that has me puzzled: "We didn’t realize that the team would quit on each game, the season, the staff, and each other. " As bad as it got, I didn't get this impression from anything else I read, the obvious exception being guys that left the team.

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

Yeah, the article was just left hanging there as if the writer had to go somewhere at the last minute and just hit 'send'. The one thing I wish he elaborated on more is the notion that the team quit. I checked out pretty early on this season for obvious reasons so I didn't witness much, but from wha...

Re: Game 6, 2019-20: vs Virginia (Mohegan Sun, 11/23)

Some unreal defensive stats from one of the Virginia boards...yikes: I've gotten used to the idea, partly through the top-line KenPom numbers, that we have our usual great defense this year, with more than usual struggles shooting from outside. Digging into the numbers a little more, I noticed how m...

Re: Game 6, 2019-20: vs Virginia (Mohegan Sun, 11/23)

One positive to Virginia's style of play is that they tend towards low scoring games which helps teams hang around longer. Definitely gives us a punchers chance with the outside shooters we have-just need to get TJ and Carl on hot streaks.
