Re: 2019 Recruiting

How many of us, myself included, didn't think all that highly of him when he was recruited. He's been better than I expected, and gotten where he is faster than I expected. I think his rapid ascension is partly attributable to Chatman & Kolton Mitchell being out extended time. Keon might start at P...

Dibaji's situation is more complicated, with the extremely late change in CSU coaching staff, but he calls out the NCAA on their slow bureaucracy.
It's really not that complicated.

Re: KAEO: Dibaji Walker

Makes sense. Having one semester to play his last year would be kind of messed up. Niles, any idea if theres any sort of deadline date for the ruling or not? No deadline. The wait time on these waivers is absurd. The majority of these cases aren't terribly complicated and should not take months to ...

Re: Game 3, 2019-20: Northeastern (11/12)

You need Diallo on either Walters or Brace. You do not. Walters & Brace are bit players for NE on offense, if Samba is the best person to defend Roland, that's where he should be. Now, mind you, UMass will probably do a lot of switching, so it will have to be a full team effort. Interesting to note...

Re: KAEO: Dibaji Walker

^ No, but even if he gets the waiver he's not obligated to play this season, he could elect to sit out the year and save a year of eligibility... I imagine if this goes on another 2-3 weeks that's probably what he'll do.

Diallo is not quick enough. Santos might be interesting.
What makes you think Diallo isn't quick enough, have you seen Roland play? Roland isn't all that quick, but he does have an odd looking and very high release on his jump shot.

Re: 2019-20 season

Gut reaction... kick him off the team right now. He's not in high school. Settle down there Len. We don't even know if any of those Tweets were about his teammates. I think players & coaches need to be very careful about what they put on social media... it's not the right place to air dirty laundry...

Re: KAEO: Dibaji Walker

I dunno. It's true we don't have the details of the player who got denied, but it's hard for me to conjure up any scenario which would rule against that kid and favor Walker. The kid who got denied had transferred once and was asking for an extra year of eligibility (without the waiver his second t...

Re: 2020 Recruiting

If he's on the roster, his scholarship counts for the 13, regardless of whether he plays or not, or whether or not he's physically able to play. As far as the question, "How many scholarships do they expect to have for 2020?" I think the the answer clearly "four." They already have committed two sc...

Fantastic set of games down in the USVI. Obviously not the greatest competition, but they showed very well with a short bench.
It’s not saying much, but I believe the level of competition is much stronger than it was 4 years ago during the European trip.

Re: Virgin Islands, August 2019, exhibition trip

Sy Chatman's parents and Tre Mitchell's mother went to the USVI, wouldn't be surprised if other player's families did as well.

Re: Virgin Islands, August 2019, exhibition trip

So this little exchange on Twitter, involving Greg Carvel, helped me realize something. https://twitter.com/CoachCarvelUM/status/1164707302068432896 Here you have Greg Carvel, a wildly successful, respected, and liked UMass athletics head coach, basically eschewing adopting something that Walt Bell ...

Re: Virgin Islands, August 2019, exhibition trip

Maybe we should just put Walt Bell's daily offering on a monitor for several of our coaches to use. Today: "We're close. It's time to get right. Time doesn't go backwards, you squeeze that toothpaste out of the tube, you can't put it back in. Really it was a message that we have to understand that ...
