Re: KAEO Jaylen Franklin (2016)

He announced on social media he is transferring to Cumberland University (TN) which is a D1 NAIA school. I had to look up what the NAIA is and D1 in NAIA is comparable to NCAA Division II.

No idea if they even offer hoop scholarships at that level but hope he finds success.

Re: State of the program

Remember back in his 2nd year here some people here were saying Pipkins was better than Chaz Williams.

Turns out he he was just a just a small fish in a big pond.

Re: KAEO LuWane Pipkins (PG-2015)

One of the few who transferred "UP" (in terms of conference) from UMass in recent memory. (Berger, Jarreau, Gresham, Gordon) are the others who transferred UP that come to mind.

Re: State of the program

We also don't know if he fired all his assistants or if any of them wanted to leave. It might be a mix of both or it might not be, we may never know. But at least he sees things have to change. But either way the 2019/20 will likely have to be an incredible improvement in order for McCall to get a 4...

Re: KAEO Kieran Hayward

If he is not graduating and intends to play D1 I think he'll have to go the Baptiste route. Summer school and if he is stil short credits sit out next fall while finishing up, graduate in December then have 1 1/2 years of eligibility left.

Re: Virgin Islands, August 2019, exhibition trip

Can freshmen/transfer go on this trip? I feel like we've had players have to sit out these trips before. Yes. I think absolutely. Last time they took a trip over to Europe incoming transfer Antwan Space took the trip........ then he didn't play agame until late December due to being academically in...

Re: Who will not be back next year?

With Unique and Pipkins leaving I believe that cuts all ties to the Kellogg era or (Error) if you will.

Re: KAEO Unique McLean (2016)

Graduating in 3 years while playing D1 hoops for two of those years. Good for him. Two years left of eligibility, getting out while he can and he'll find a great spot to land.

Re: KAEO Jaylen Franklin (2016)

It’s funny to me that Franklin has gotten more attention leaving than he ever got while he was at UMass. It was the same way when the NOLA duo left. True, Franklin has gotten more than enough attention since he said he was leaving. I'm guess a casual fan had no idea who he even is. But the NoLo duo...

Re: 2019 Hall of Fame Classic At Mohegan Sun

Depending on how things fall into place but a non-conference schedule with (2 of) Virginia, St Johns, Arizona State then Rutgers, South Carolina and Harvard is better than we have seen in a while. Then add in 2 of these teams Central Connecticut, Rider, Columbia or Vermont for filler I guess. And al...

Re: KAEO Jaylen Franklin (2016)

I go back to my prior comment. We have had way too much discussion about a walk on who decided to leave. It's a minor blip on the radar, and that's probably overstating it. Absolutely. Andy Warhol must be smiling at all this attention. I think it is safe to say that no one will ever utter the words...

Re: Who will not be back next year?

Jaylen Franklin's mom recently tweeted in a thread that I was a part of and she said "100% True" to someone saying that McCall isn't able to connect to his players. It's hard to tell if that first comment is her being angry at him about her son's lack of playing time, or if she doesn't care about t...

Re: Who will not be back next year?

I wish Pipkins would stay and cement his legacy as one of the top scorers at Umass and be part of the solution in 2019/20. But he is leaving and I am really wondering where he ends up. Not many players transfer "UP" from Umass. If he is looking for a college to give him big minutes as a PG I think t...

Re: Who will not be back next year?

I really like Baptiste for his defence, seems like he is always in good position and contests/blocks shots without getting called for many fouls. Like a Saen Carter type of defensive player. Offense isn't his forte, he is like a 6'10" Derrick Gordon, he can get to the rim with the ball but can't fin...
