Re: KAEO: ‪Khalea Turner-Morris‬

Right, that's kind of what I thought. My outside view of the NCAA waiver process is that it's not a yes until they actually say yes, and as you mentioned, it seems like a bit of a crapshoot. It's interesting that you said that the coaching staff is very confident, which indicates that it hasn't been...

Re: KAEO: ‪Khalea Turner-Morris‬

Thanks rsox1221. Would you mind explaining what the criteria are for getting a waiver, and what the situation was at CSU last year that gives them confidence about Walker's waiver request?

Re: KAEO: ‪Khalea Turner-Morris‬

Tough break for KTM. I'm glad the athletic department worked something out for him to continue his degree. As for Dibaji Walker, the team has been using him in promos for the upcoming season: https://twitter.com/UMassBasketball/status/1183071705595568128 . I would find it odd for them to be doing th...

Re: State of the Progam

Please excuse the stupidity of this question as I only follow the football program from a distance, but what is the difference between this team and the past two years that saw them win 4 games each season including wins over BYU and App State, and at the very least looked competitive in others? I k...

Re: 2019-20 Coaching Changes thread

Two thoughts on the Goodman article: 1. It's just another indicator of the amazing job Schmidt does at Bonaventure. Ranked 11th out of 14 and that team is a consistent winner. 2. UMass is ranked just about right. We should be a consistent top 5 school in this conference. Not a perennial tourney team...

Re: 2019-20 season

Rob Bradford posted a column, or opinion piece, or ... actually, I don't really know what this would be considered. Maybe hack journalism, but I don't think there's actually any journalism. He just states that UMass is irrelevant, doesn't mention the subject of the article (the new court), or what i...

Re: 2019-20 season

Maybe this is just semantics, but I don't think he's very high on UMass. He had nice things to say about the house cleaning McCall did, and he likes Tre Mitchell a lot, but he has the team projected to finish in 10th place, which I think is about where most people have them.

Re: UMass apparel

For those looking for throwback gear, '16 UMass grad Dan Williams just opened up a vintage shop in Amherst. It sounds like it's mostly NFL and NBA gear, but sounds like there may be some UMass items as well: "While the store also has an extensive supply of caps for the local professional teams, the ...

Re: 2019-20 season

To be expected now that he's off the roster, but it looks like KTM is taking a medical year off and may hang 'em up for good: https://twitter.com/rsox1221/status/1174420983102496769

Apologies if this was posted elsewhere: https://theathletic.com/1222852/2019/09 ... minutemen/

Written by the great Steve Buckley, easily Boston's best sports writer and a UMass grad.

Re: 2019-20 season

I'm a big fan of the addition of Bergeron as he's a Springfield guy and has a very impressive track record, but I also have a little concern that those Woodstock relationships might alienate some outside that group. His history of being a great recruiter and relationship builder probably squashes al...

Re: 2019-20 season

I’m not good at making predictions, but I feel as optimistic about this year’s basketball team as I am pessimistic about the football team. Interesting, so you think the team has a chance to go undefeated? Just kidding LS. I think the football team has a legitimate chance to grab anywhere from 0 to...

Re: 2019 Hall of Fame Classic At Mohegan Sun

I picked up tickets for section 117, which are center court, bench side, upper level for both days. The price gulf between upper and lower level was too much, so I went with upper level. I've never been to a game at that arena, so maybe they'll let folks scoot down to the better seats if it's empty....
