Collective contracts are not binding, so a multi-year contract means nothing.

Niles, I don;t think you understand how the Collective contracts are worded. I'll let Patrick provide a full explanation, but payment are made in increments and start after the season starts. So if a player leaves before the start of the season, no funds have changed hands.

1697 names counts both division 1 and 2, right? So that'd be 650 schools or almost 3 people per school. I would guess that most of those names are Division 1, given that division 2 isn't as intense. Just a reminder, it's not just us that is suffering. There are 1,697 names in the portal with 2 weeks to go. Last year there were over 1,800 if I remember correctly.

My thought is the only way to fix this is to give players one free transfer and then sit out a year on future transfers unless there is a coaching change. Most, if not all, players do not want to sit a year even if they are getting paid. However, the courts don't agree with this.

Another tweet from Frank. After his last tweet we heard about Matt Cross. I hope this doesn't repeat itself. Seriously, if Frank has 2 key transfers coming in, I will feel a lot better about this day.

I normally don't give a crap what players do or if they are successful if they leave early (Noah, RJ, Gapare, etc.). I will, however, root for Matt. He gave it 100% every minute he was on the floor, played hurt and was the heart and soul of the team.

In my opinion, it could be just 1 or 2 possibilities:

1. Matt Cross is coming back
2. A quality center who he was recruiting told him he is committing

Any other ideas? A backup PG or a shooter don't measure up to these 2.

We probably have no shot, but I would love to get this transfer from Wake Forest. Something is going on there as he is the third big to leave. They now have only 2 players over 6'6.

At least 4 A10 teams have acquired bigs in the last couple of weeks. Richmond got Beagle a week or so ago and these 3 committed within the last few days. Beagle is pretty good. Key is a transfer from Ohio State and might do well in the A10. His minutes went down last year as he perhaps got recruited...
