Re: 2020 Recruiting

I know, I know, never stop recruiting, but just how many spots are they expecting to open up next year? Given that KTM is no longer on the roster, it looks clear to me they need to replace two bigs, so the offer to Andrews makes sense.

Re: Game 3: @Charlotte - 9/14/2019

^ Yep. It’s almost impossible to believe we are in year 8 of FBS. I’m sure there is a plan by Bell and staff, but we are as bad, if not worse in year 8 than we were in year 1. I don’t think we are going to see much improvement this year, in fact I expect regression as they start to play tougher oppo...

One thing Charlotte was willing to do that UMass was not: leave the A10 for the betterment of their football program.
Agreed, but I still don't want to be in the MAC. Conference USA isn't much better, but it's a much more natural fit for Charlotte than the MAC is for UMass.

In addition to us, he has offers from Stonybrook and Canisius. Looks like he graduates in 20 from his juco.

This team desperately needs a quarterback. Wonder if any of the young kids have potential, and if so should they be playing now?

Re: Game 3: @Charlotte - 9/14/2019

Honestly, this might be one of the worst defenses in the history of college football. Awful in every phase of the game.

Interesting. I don’t think schools take players off rosters because they are injured. If he’s not on the roster, I would guess he’s not on the team anymore. Anyone know for sure how this works?

Re: State of the Progam

I wish people would stop comparing this to the hockey situation. Carvel was a proven head coach who turned around a moribund SLU program, and before that had been an NHL assistant for several years. I’m not saying Bell can’t turn this around, but the circumstances are far different.

Re: Game 2: Southern Illinois - 9/7/2019

Wait, are you saying it was quiet yesterday? I hope not. And the points about the band being complete drowned out are spot on. Dreadful team and dreadful game day experience. I didn't think the volume was ridiculous. Everybody's different I guess. Just curious, did you spend any time in the Minutem...

Re: Game 2: Southern Illinois - 9/7/2019

I thought the athletic department put together a spotify playlist that fans could contribute to? Also, I'm not sure I've been to a stadium where the music was "quiet". Frankly, UMass might be the quietest games I've been to. I know someone who worked on her homework at a basketball game last year. ...

Re: Game 2: Southern Illinois - 9/7/2019

Once again Jack and I are 100 percent on the same page...his comments about the music are spot on. It was nearly deafening and at times it seemed non-stop. And it is much worse standing in the Minutemen Club end zone. I couldn’t hear myself think. I get it, it’s for the students, etc. but they were ...

Re: Game 2: Southern Illinois - 9/7/2019

Dreadful...and the worst thing is seeing excuses after your alleged big boy football team got its doors blown off, at home, by a mediocre to bad FCS team that went 2-10 last year. This UMass team would win 4 games at most against an all FCS schedule. Kind of feel bad for the guys who were going to t...

Our QB didn't need to go to the fucking sideline for every play call. That, my friends, is progress.
Funny, with Whipple gone, I had put this far out of my mind. It's a great point and a significant improvement.
