Re: A10 Tournament

Everything changed in the sports world when NBA players started testing positive.

Re: Game 31, 2019-20: Rhode Island (3/7)

Great story! Yes, these three guys deserve a rousing sendoff. They personify what UMass is all about!

Re: Game 31, 2019-20: Rhode Island (3/7)

^ The Vegas linemakers take something like that into account big time. I would not take UMass giving only 2.5 because URI is on the wrong side of the NCAA bubble and desperately needs to win. Besides, I only bet on four-legged animals. But think the 4 that I quoted would be a fair line and I look fo...

Re: Game 31, 2019-20: Rhode Island (3/7)

I'm not a sports bettor, but without doing any research, I'd have to guess UMass has a winning record against the spread (yes, Joleon, we covered in all three of the games you mentioned). Guess my 4-point prediction wasn't radical enough. I did some calculations based on the spread in the Dayton-URI...

I predict URI will be a 4-point favorite.

Re: KAEO: Dibaji Walker

Dibaji was an unsung hero last night for the way he singlehandedly kept us in the game in the first half. Without him, we would have been behind at least 20 points at halftime.

I stormed the court at the Mullins a few times after A10 titles.
I stand corrected. But to the best of my recollection, none of those were like the massive storming after the UConn upset.

Re: Game 25, 2019-20: Dayton (2/15)

^ Well, top 5 maybe. Oklahoma in '92 put us on the big-time map, followed by North Carolina and Arkansas. I could make a case for UConn the season after they won the NC (the only time the Mullins court was ever stormed) but that turned out to be a total fluke. Beating Dayton certainly would be one o...

Re: Tony Bergeron

I'm with Coach McLaughlin - we need to get that chip back on our shoulders! As for Djery, it was easy to see that somebody had been helping him with his offensive moves in the post. I guess we shouldn't be surprised that it was Tony.

I'm in Section 118, Row C. My recollection is there is not a bad seat in the house. There is also a Court Club gathering after the game at the Bow & Arrow Sports Pub.

The stated times for all of the games would suggest the arena will not be cleared out after the second game Saturday. It's not like CCSU is an attraction worthy of separate admission. And I believe there are other entertainment options on the property.

Re: Defending National Champ games

I agree with Arkansas because of the way the game started. When Arkansas took the floor, their players just stood around, held their arms up and invited the crowd to admire them. Then Roe got loose off Camby's opening tip, flushed it 2 seconds into the game and the Civic Center went absolutely nuts....

Pretty obvious that UVA will try to pound it inside on us and take away our perimeter shooting.

First things first, though. Let's take care of business against Rider, which is no gimmee.
