Re: John Chaney passes

It was a heated rivalry but I always respected Chaney. There wasn't a phony bone in his body and you always knew where he was coming from. I would argue that we hated Mike Jarvis a lot more. (Older members of this board might remember that we called him "Satan.") RIP Coach Chaney.

Re: Game 7, 2020-21: Rhode Island (1/13)

^ Neither was I. And to think I was at a packed Hangar filled with pre-spring break St. Pat's Day revelers before the game. The virus could already have been floating around for all I now know. I look forward to returning to the Mullins ASAP but I'm sure it won't be reopened to the public until they...

Re: Dee Rowe

Dee and Jack were fierce rivals on the court but they forged a great friendship off the court. Tom, I really miss those days of New England basketball before the Big East and A10 (nee Eastern Eight) broke it all up.

I also use Edge but I have not seen that warning, including on my anti-virus program.

Re: Games 1 & 2, 2020-2021 Northeastern (12/11 & 12/13)

It was a good start, but assuming the A10 holds together this season (still a big if), the conference is going to be really tough. We really need to get that first A10 win next week.

Eldon, you sound like Joe Pesci in Goodfellas. Actually, this board has been a source of amusement while sitting at home bored out of my skull.

Nothing we can do about it other than take the necessary precautions and hope we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: 2020-21 Season

The college basketball season is going to be even more disjointed than football because all practices and games are indoors. I'm not sure they can pull this off without a series of multi-team bubbles in set locations. I heard Pitino suggested today the NCAA tournament should be delayed until May, an...

Re: Season Tickets for the 2020-21 season

With the virus rate heading back to last spring's levels, don't count on any spectators on campus until a vaccine is available, which pretty much rules out the current school year. Hopefully we'll be back to some semblance of normalcy next September.

No UMass football broadcast outlets in Eastern Mass. that I'm aware of. The 105.5 FM signal doesn't reach outside Western Mass. I assume you can still access the live stream on the UMass Athletics website.

Re: Game 2D: @ Marshall - 11/7 @2:30pm

As long as we have some Breeders' Cup talk in this thread, my two cents worth: Sharp Samurai (15-1 ML) in the Dirt Mile. I also like Digital Age (8-1) in the Turf Mile, and I love Max in the Classic. They gang-banged him early in the Awesome Again, setting it up for Improbable, and that won't happen...

Re: All-time starting five

Aside from the obvious top 3, I will accept no arguments that Alex Eldridge wasn't our best PG ever. As for the 2, we can go in a lot of different directions. Skinner was really a swing guy but I have no problem plugging him into the SG spot, but how can we not consider our all-time leading scorer, ...
